On Friday, March 9, 1984 witnessed by 50 members from neighboring chapters, 15 dynamic members chartered the Delray Beach Alumnae Chapter with the support and leadership of the Regional Director, Verdelle Bellamy. Following the March 9 formal chartering ceremony, the members from Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton celebrated with the community. A luncheon was held and the chapter’s theme ‘Deltas Linked Together for Service’ was unveiled.
This milestone was the culmination of a two year process which consisted of service projects related to senior citizens, tutorial assistance for students and family activities.
It was not until the Chapter’s attendance at the San Francisco National Convention that the chartering name was officially changed to South Palm Beach County Alumnae Chapter.
