ABOUT US
On March 9, 1984 with the support and leadership of the director of the Southern Region, Verdell Bellamy, 15 determined Delta women chartered the Delray Beach Alumnae Chapter. A formal chartering ceremony was held and the members from Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton celebrated with the community at a luncheon with the theme “Deltas Linked Together for Service”. This momentous milestone was the culmination of a two-year process which consisted of serving the community through projects related to senior citizens, tutorial assistance for students and family activities. It was not until the chapter’s attendance at the 33rd National Convention in San Francisco that the chartering name was officially changed to South Palm Beach County Alumnae Chapter.
